Peace in the classroom as a condition for school success: what does the literature reveal?

This paper aims to discuss the issue of indiscipline as a contribution for an educational proposal in favour of peace, based on the selective review of the literature. Contemporary times require overcoming authoritarianism, oppression and submission in schools. Considering the construction of educational processes directed toward the development of autonomy and solidarity, on the basis of dialogue, emancipation and cooperation, according to Freinet, Freire and other great educators, this work presents some suggestions for schools: (i) constitution of teams for intervention on the basis of problem-solving, by means of educational project development, aiming school self-management; (ii) planning of significant curricula for stimulating the desire to learn; (iii) the use of dialogue for co-establishing social life rules, based on the respect to diversities as cultural wealth.
