Curricula politics and internationalization of higher education: multiculturalism or semiformation?

One of the basic discourse premises in support of the internationalization of higher education is its ability to promote multiculturalism, helping the construction of more reflexive and critical curricula . These new curricula arrangements would transform schools in the epicentre of social transformations, seeking more egalitarian living conditions for all. However, instead of promoting cultural diversity, the internalization of higher education seems to spread a particular form of culture that seeks its legitimacy through the standardization of curricula , syllabi, language structure and cultural experiences. This macro structural education framework needs to be intensely discussed in higher education institutions. Based on a critical reflection of official reports and articles in defense of higher education internalization, we tried to reveal the private interests involved, in the hope of arguing for the importance of the political and critical objectives of higher education.
