Standardization of the fundamental criteria for the internationalization of Higher Education in Mexico

Abstract

The internationalization of Higher Education is highly relevant within educational institutions. In fact, the approach and foundation lie within academic and institutional aspects, for creating strategic alliances that contribute to the strengthening of the process. The fundamental objective is to propose a theoretical model capable of standardizing the fundamental strategies to achieve internationalization in public Higher Education Institutions, based on key activities that incorporate the components of Education in globalization, educational research, dissemination of academic mobility and inclusive Education. The data analysis was carried out using a quantitative descriptive correlational methodology through the application of 86 surveys to public universities in northern Mexico. Thus, the model shows inclusive education as a significant indicator, whereas the indicator with the least relevance is the diffusion of academic mobility. In conclusion, inclusive Education is found to work through mechanisms aimed at promoting gender equity, the cultural coexistence of peace and social cohesion, respect for gender identity, and the inclusion of people with different abilities and cultural diversity.
