ABSTRACT:
This paper presents a systematic review of the production of knowledge on the concept of Practice Community (CoP), linked to the education of science teachers in the last 20 years, in research conducted in Brazil and in Portugal. The systematic review was carried out through the search in databases and repositories, with the aim of identifying the main characteristics of the research that addresses the concept of CoP as a formative scenario for education science teachers, including their rationale, aims, methodology and results, and, mostly, the meanings produced about teachers’ education. Our analysis points out that most of the research are considered as a theorical and methodological framework, but also as a strategy designed to establish more democratic and horizontal spaces for science teachers’ education.
