OPINION ARTICLE: INTRODUCTORY METHODOLOGICAL NOTES TO THINK ABOUT RESEARCH IN SCIENCE TEACHING BASED ON HISTORICAL-DIALECTICAL MATERIALISM: WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR WHEN WE CARRY OUT A BIBLIOGRAPHICAL REVIEW?

ABSTRACT:

This article-opinion dialogues with “A bibliographical review on ontological and epistemological aspects of science: the importance of the worldview for Science Education”, article by Carlos Sérgio Leonardo Júnior (2023). Taking as a reference the methodological considerations and results listed by the author, I bring here methodological contributions to think about bibliographic reviews based on historical-dialectical materialism. In the first moment of the text, I present elements of the historical-dialectical materialist method, reinforcing the importance of prioritizing the object of our investigation. In the second part of the text, I list procedures for thinking about aspects of the investigation and exposition method when dealing with a review. I conclude this manuscript by defending the need to go beyond a simple description of the investigated object and move on to an analysis that points out gaps and contradictions; show how elements of totality are expressed in the particularity of the object; and what possible aspects of progress and successes the reviewed works can highlight.
