STUDENT PERCEPTIONS ABOUT EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY IN DEGREE COURSES IN BIOLOGY IN THE AMAZON REGION OF PARÁ

ABSTRACT:

The study aimed to reflect on the perceptions of students of undergraduate courses in Biology of the Amazon region of Pará regarding the approach and contributions of Education for Sustainability for these teachers in training. Qualitative in nature, the research involved 50 students from five different higher education institutions in the same region. Regarding the dimensions of Education for Sustainability in training, the perceptions are guided by aspects related to the disciplines and the insertion of new interdisciplinary and contextualized approaches in the course of the formative process, revealing lack of dimensions that involve respect, diversity and culture. Thus, although some formative aspects have been highlighted positively, attention is paid to the need for reflection and (re)adequacy in the approach of some themes in the training offered, regarding the curricular structure, teaching practice and even in the sociopolitical and environmental positioning of educational institutions.
