This article constitutes a first presentation of our research on "conflicted, but not demoniac" relationships between clinical psychology and psychoanalysis in France. This is a partial and introductory outcome therefore. With this article we intend to justify the examination of the theme, through a panoramic and historical vision, and to present the methodology of this research. This article is committed to the broader project engaging an ongoing critical and historical examination on research and education psychoanalysis at university institution.
