The History Line of Education in stricto sensu Postgraduate Programs

ABSTRACT

The article addresses the importance of the field of study of History of Education, aiming to present and discuss the importance of the line “History of Basic Education-NEB-PPEB”. In order to do so, an overview is made of the conceptualization and history of the constitution of lines of research. Allied to this, a demonstration is made of how these courses are distributed throughout the national territory. As well, the importance of lines of research for the growth of research and the increase of graduate programs is discussed, using as a reference the line of research of the History of Education (HE) as an example. Finally, the history of the creation of the research line “History of Basic Education” of the Graduate Program in Curriculum and Management of the Basic School (PPEB) of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) is presented, highlighting the problems involved in the construction of a line of research in the area of the history of education and presenting perspectives of a line of “History of Education in the Amazon” as part of the national education project.
