Although largely treated in the recent educational literature, one goes back to the theme democratic management of the basic education to analyze its relation/inter-relationship with the educational evaluation in the effective Brazilian juridical-legal regulation. The objective is to derive subjects of interest for the evaluation of those practices, to detach the place/no-place of the evaluation in the democratic management delineated in that regulation and to emphasize the importance of the democracy conception in the configuration of both practices.
