The right to education, diversity and education in human rights

Human rights are at the heart of the contemporary societies' matter. Rights which are affirmed and continuously violated, they are a reference for the development of democratic human societies. Developed in the historical context of occidental modernity, they have emphasized the equality. However, nowadays, the challenge is to incorporate the diversity issue. The objective of this work, having as reference the tension between equality and difference in the conception and practice of human rights, is to discuss the specificities and articulations between the right to education and the education in human rights. These two fields cross over, and the education in human rights is considered nowadays as a key component of the right to education. This perspective places us in horizon of promoting educative processes capable of training right-holders, considering their specificities and strengthening democratic processes, in which redistribution and recognition are integrated.
