ABSTRACT:
The article reveals what is behind the researches in distant education, virtual learning environments, online formation and methodologies in constitution in cyberculture. It is a meta-analysis resulting from a bibliographic review, characterizing a state of knowledge. The study indicates the fragmentation and fragile composition of a field of knowledge in distant education, implying the modality to the use of information and communication technology (ICT). Investigations suggest the instrumental use of ICTs in formation contexts. On the methodologies, there is a multifaceted tendency of approaches mainly to the qualitative ones. Finally, the idea of digital culture, which is close to formation, demonstrates a movement contrary to the division between presential, not-presential, distance and/or online, converging to the idea of hybridizations.
