FACING RACISM AND SEXISM TO RECONSTRUCT EDUCATIONAL POLICY FROM AN INTERSECTIONAL PERSPECTIVE: THE BLACK WOMEN PROPOSAL

ABSTRACT

Black feminism, from an intersectional perspective, defends anti-racist and anti-sexist education, as analyzed in this article. Forged by black women activists, this vision integrates race, class, gender, and sexuality as intersecting systems of power (Collins, 2017COLLINS, P. H. Se perdeu na tradução? Feminismo negro, Interseccionalidade e política emancipatória. Parágrafo, v. 5, n. 1, p. 6-17, jan./jun. 2017. ). The interconnection of oppression categories is proposed in order to understand social diversity and promote democratic and equitable social justice. The article rescues the educational policy agenda of the 3rd World Conference to Combat Racism (Durban, 2001CONFERÊNCIA MUNDIAL CONTRA O RACISMO, A DISCRIMINAÇÃO RACIAL, A XENOFOBIA E FORMAS CORRELATAS DE INTOLERÂNCIA, Durban, 31 ago. a 8 set. 2001. Declaração e programa de ação. Durban, 2001.) and the National March of Black Women (Brasília, Brasil, 2015), highlighting the relevance of black women in the implementation of the Law of Guidelines and Bases amended by Law no. 10.639/2003 in education systems and strengthening affirmative actions in higher education institutions.
