Teacher training for Professional and Technological Education in Brazil: a dialogue with the faculties of education and pedagogy courses

With the creation of the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology, a new institutional framework for professional and technological education (PTE) is being built. It is essential to bring to the heart of the debate, the importance of creating new public policies for teacher training courses aimed at professionals working in these institutes. In addition, Faculties of Education and Pedagogy courses must take part in the process. Starting the dialogue that we propose herein, we discuss these questions and analyze the data collected by means of a survey which focused on the teacher training structure or profile for teaching professionals working in federal professional and technological education institutes. The participants of the survey were attending the Master in Education program from the University of Brasilia.
