NUTRIENTS CONCENTRATION IN SEEDS: THE MOLIBDEN ROLE

ABSTRACT

The mineral nutrient content in the seeds can affect its potential of storage, the initial development, the biological nitrogen fixation and in the case of some species, the grain production. The effect in the seeds, of nutrients applied in the soil or foliar application in the leaves has been studied reasonably. However, in the literature there were no many information about the relation of nutrient mineral in the seeds and the establishment of the plant. Beside that, other studies were made to increase the nutrient content in the seeds through the directly application on the seeds, or the immersion of seeds in solution with different nutrients. The objective of this work was to evaluate the contribution of the seed content in the establishment of plant. Detailed analysis were given to the studies of the Mo content in the seeds and its implications.

Key words:
