EFFICACY FROM ETHANOL TRAPS IN EUCALYPTUS CITRIODORA REFORESTATION

ABSTRACT

This paper has purpose, confront the efficacy from traps ethanol to the collections from the species of the family Coleoptera, present in the area of the reforestation Eucalyptus citriodora, placed near of theAgricultural School Nilo Peçanha, in the municipality of Pinheiral, RJ. In the raising effectuated were used traps with bait ethanol, patterns Carvalho 47 and Prototype. The traps were distributed the 1.30 m of the level from the ground, 60 meters equaly, in the reforestation of Eucalyptus citriodora with aproximate 16 years old. The collections were realized weekly, in the morning, between may to October 1997. The identification from the collected material restrict exclusively in the insects from the order Coleoptera at the collection in the area of Entomology of "Instituto de Florestas da Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro", in 11 collections, was captured a total generality of 264 insects, so distribute: in the trap Carvalho-47 were captured 59,10% from the total insects; in the Prototype, in phase of test 40.90%. The results indicated that, the trap Carvalho-47 presented a larger efficiency in the capture of Coleoptera of the family Scolytidae, in the reforestation Eucalyptus citriodora.
