VENEER BONDING QUALITY VALUATION IN PLYWOOD

ABSTRACT

In this research were evaluated the veneer bonding quality in plywood of Eucalyptus cloeziana and Eucalyptus robusta manufactured with three differents formulation of the urea-formaldheyde resin. Were tested the properties of modulus of elasticity (MOE), modulus of rupture (MOR) and glue line shear strength (RLC). The board produced with venner of the Eucalyptus cloeziana showed higher value of the MOE and MOR in comparison of the board of Eucalyptus robusta. The glue line shear strenght were similar between the species studied. The boards manufactured with higher ratio of resin improves significativelly the values of the MOR and RLC. On the other hand, for the MOE were not found difference attributed to this variable.
