ABSTRACT
The objectives of this research was to verify the travel distance of urban park visitors in Curitiba-Pr, and the relation between the distance and visits number. The following six areas were evaluated: Bosque Alemão, Parque Barigui, Jardim Botânico, Bosque João Paulo II, Parque São Lourenço and Parque Tanguá. The data was obtained from a field research, carried out during the year of 1999, totaling 1,824 inquests (304 per park). The results showed us that the distance to visit the parks was 4 km, with variation coefficient of 85.2%, and that the visit frequence decrease with the distance increase.
