Performance of genetic materials of eucalypts in Paty do Alferes, RJ, Brazil

Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate seven genetic materials of eucalypt in Paty dos Alferes Municipality, RJ. The experiment was set up in a randomized block design, with 35 replications for each sample, in a spacing of 3 x 2 m. In the survival evaluation, 2 months after sowing, Eucalyptus grandis (98,9%) showed a higher percentage, followed by Eucalyptus camaldulensis (96,9%) and by the hybrid E. grandis x E. urophylla (96,6%). In the evaluation of diameter and height growth it was observed that the Eucalyptus urophylla, the hybrid E. grandis x E. urophylla and Eucalyptus grandis showed the best index of growth and establishment and Corymbia citriodora had the worst growth, up to 18 months after planting.
