WOOD DEGRADER COLEOPTERA COLLECTED IN A CITRUS PLANTATIONS WITH TRAPS AT PINHEIRAL COUNTRY STATE OF RIO DE JANEIRO

ABSTRACT

The experiment was developed between june 1997 and june 1998 at Pinheiral country, State of Rio de Janeiro, at in a area of approximately 6.000 m2 (six thousand square meters); in a orchard of citrus of the Pera Rio and Natal, cultivates aiming to collect Coleoptera individuals. This insects were collected with traps of impact Carvalho-47 and a Prototype, at 1.30 m height from ground level: using ethanol 92.8% as attractive which was weekely replaced. A total of 31,62 Coleoptera individual was collected in the 50 collections, using two types of traps. Of impact. The family Scolytidae presented higher frequency in both traps. Studies about species of this family are important because many of them are vectors of diseases to citrus plants.
