BIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS AND LEAF AREA CONSUMPTION OF Urbanus acawoios (Williams, 1926) (LEPIDOPTERA: HESPERIIDAE) IN Galactia striata (Jacq.) ub (LEGUMINOSAE: FABOIDEAE)

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was the biological parameters and leaf area consumption of Urbanus acawoios in Galactia striata. The eggs were collected out of doors in leafs of Clitoria fairchildiana, and after that were taken to Forest Entomology Laboratory. The consumption of fourth and fifth stage of change was valued by the Integrated System For Root Analysts And Soil Covering software (SIARCS) CNPDIA - EMBRAPA, where was obteined 23,49 cm2 and 135,43 cm2, respectively. The caterpillar average weights in third, fourth and fifth stages of change were 0,0277; 0,0541 and 0,1696 g, respectively, pre-pupe and pupe average weights were 0,2988 and 0,2657 g, respectively. The life cycle since eclosion to death of adult had an average during of 51 days.
