ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to analyze the diametric structure and to characterize the conservation status of fragment forests of the upper Araguaia river basin using De Liocurt quotient and qualitative descriptors. The communities presented small diameters. The diametric structure of most fragments forest showed problems. The results showed that most fragments forests are terrible conservation status and the evident degradation agents were: cattle, human presence and selective cut of wood.
