ABSTRACT
This paper presents data on the leaf anatomy and micromorphology of the endangered Melanopsidium nigrum Colla (Rubiaceae), found at the Restinga of Marambaia, Rio de Janeiro. The leaves are hiposestomatics, with paracytic stomata, dorsiventral mesophyll and collateral vascular bundles. Unicellular trichomes are distributed only on the lower surface.
