Abstract
This work aimed to make the characterization of water regime and assess the water quality of the watershed of the stream in the city of Timothy Zerede - MG. The watershed was defined as a fundamental unit of work since it allows the gradual breakdown of study without the loss of sense of all, and especially the watershed of the stream Zerede, being an area of social and ecological interest. Therefore, collections were made from water samples for physical, chemical and biological measurements of flow and precipitation within the basin. The results show that the rains are concentrated in the months November to January, which may reach 76% of annual precipitation. In most samples, the biological characteristics of water (thermotolerant coliforms) met the requirements for Class I, as established by CONAMA. The physical and chemical quality of water was influenced by seasonality, and the turbidity was the variable that most affected the quality of water in the rainy season and the pH and OD the most affected parameter in the dry season.
