Abstract
The wood is a product from a complex biochemical metabolic process of a tree. This metabolic process has been partially described as a chemical, biochemical, enzymatic and genomic events. The lignification, for example, is a final metabolism line associated with xylem formation, activating the mechanism of the general development for the differentiation of certain kind of tissues. This process is base on a diversified control of factors as nutrition, diseases and hormonal system. In this review the phytohormones were considered as a controller of the wood formation. These hormones control some physiology and morphology processes in the plants, playing an important role on the anatomical, biochemical, physiological and genetic context. The sinergy effect on the xylogenesis, for example has been observed on peroxidase activity.
