Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the development of the notion of diagram of control in the thought of the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze, to discuss its emergence and elaboration. This diagram became known by the article entitled “Postscript on the societies of control”. We conducted a literature review in the whole work of Deleuze, to map the development of this concept. We conclude that the French philosopher created this concept from four different lines: the postmodern thought, the transformation of the technical machines, the changing of the legal forms in the history of philosophy and the resource to American beatnik literature. We also discuss the relationship between this diagram and the emergence of the fascism.
