Abstract
The paper discusses the relationship between time and communication. First of all, two possible paradigms of comprehension of this relationship are indicated: the first one, which is called epochalist, will be strongly criticized; the second one, which emphasizes differences, operates in a non-linear mode and is more akin to the perspective defended by the paper. After that, the problem of difference in Brazilian contemporaneity is analyzed.
