Abstract
This essay seeks to problematize the relations between technique and technology, information and communication based on a specific reflection of space as an operational and perceived milieu. The starting point is the idea of space as a technical-scientific-informational milieu and the questioning of what changes with the addition of the “communicational” to the expression consecrated by Milton Santos (1996). What differences and relationships can be established in the spatiality between information and communication? In this context, the importance of the geographical concept of place is also explained for a geographical approach to these themes. This concept extends beyond the limits of spatial contiguity toward a more comprehensive scale of conceiving the phenomenon of communication.
