Finance tima and the banking daily life of the population in Buenos Aires

Abstract

Finance is the spine of the economy in every country in the world. However, its manifestations are singular in each socio-spatial formation, with local properties and specificities. In Argentina, particularly in the city of Buenos Aires, there is a distribution of financial work through what we refer to as bank-wise commerce, that is, premises that mix commercial functions with banking activities.

The text seeks to travel the routes of money in the social and territorial division of labor, establishing the digital monetary economy, highlighting the participation of financial businesses in the landscape of the Buenos Aires city, and changing the life of relationships. In this context, new temporalities are experienced by social actors, accelerating commercial processes and urban consumption.
