Seeking dialogue with the knowledge produced in anthropology about the category heritage this paper analyzes a process in Europe, which is the effort to revitalize and preserve a type of grazing known as transhumance. The transhumance, typical of countries of the Mediterranean climate, with strong temperature fluctuations between winter and summer, is characterized by the displacement of people with their livestock over long distances. This activity has been considered threatened to disappear in Europe. The reflection on the "patrimonialization" of this activity is the purpose of this article. The analysis of the construction of a system of objects in this context and its role in the formation of subjectivities, cultural identities and assertion of rights are central goals of this work.
