The experiment was carried out in field at the Universidade para o Desenvolvimento do Estado e Região do Pantanal, located in Campo Grande, Brazil, from June to September 2005. The aim of this work was to evaluate the performance of commercial single-head broccoli cultivars for Campo Grande. Eight commercial cultivars were evaluated: BRO 68 (Rogers), Marathon (Sakata), Green Parasol (Takii), Centenário (Takii), Legacy (Asgrow), Majestic Crown (Asgrow), AF649 (Sakata) and Brócolis de Cabeça (Topseed). The experimental design was a completely randomized block with four replications, with ten plants per plot. Six harvests were performed, from 89 days after the sowing date, according to the broccoli inflorescence formation and the harvest point, independently from the size. Fresh inflorescence mass (g) and diameter (cm) and yield (t ha-1) were measured and evaluated. Among the evaluated cultivars, the most recommended for production in Campo Grande from June to September are Centenário, AF649, BRO 68 and Marathon.
