STAYS AND BREAKS IN THE TRAJECTORY OF TWO INTELLECTUALS IN THEIR CULTURAL PRACTICES OF MEDIATION IN PARANÁ (1850-1920)

Abstract

The aim of this article is to examine the theme of female education from the study of the trajectory of two intellectuals: Iria Corrêa and Mariana Coelho, analyzing their cultural practices of mediation in Paraná, in the period between the second half of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century. Although the two have lived in different temporalities, they played the role of mediating intellectuals, configuring in their trajectories cultural practices that were characterized by offering artistic and educational options for women in their working contexts. The documentary corpus of this work is composed of sources from the periodical press of Paraná, Reports of the Public Inspectorate of Paraná (1906-1917) and the memories of Antonio Vieira dos Santos (1952). Methodologically, the option of this article is to work with the perspective of mediating intellectuals (SIRINELLI), the concept of trajectory (BOURDIEU) and gender (SCOTT).
