USES AND FUNCTIONS OF PUBLIC PHOTOGRAPH IN SCHOOL HISTORY KNOWLEDGE

Abstract

This article analyses photographs as means of production of didactical historical knowledge and also a privileged platform of observation of school practices in visual history. It focuses on the uses and functions of public photograph for teaching History and the possibilities of the association between Visual History and historical scholarship in elementary levels. It is presented the notion of public photograph and its uses in contemporary didactical books.
