The present paper intends to identify the origins of student-produced school press in Argentina. The printed matter is set in Argentinian social, cultural and pedagogic context and is considered an activity attached to press production and distribution in general, and juvenile and educational press in particular. Two examples of student-made journals are given to account for the continuity of this tradition: one made by primary school students in the 1960s and another by high school students in the 1980s. Therefore, this article is presenting some preliminary findings with regard to education and press cultural history, which proves to be an unexplored research field in Argentina.
