Renewal of teaching programs of arithmetic elementary school in São Paulo and Paraná, in the year of 1930: comparative historical study

In order to understand ideas of the New School in official discourse of the state of Paraná and São Paulo, this study compares two programs for elementary school arithmetic, prescribed respectively in 1932 and 1934. The program saves the Paraná resemblance to São Paulo, which in 1934 has adopted a reduced form of the program in 1925. This analysis shows similarities with the programs in the non-incorporation of globalized education. The differential in the program of Paraná are the recurring recommendations for teaching intuitive, practical and possible and realized use of Letters of Parker to organize the multiplication tables. The schedule attached program has space reserved for the oral daily calculation, indicative of permanence of the traditional practice of memorizing the multiplication tables.
