SCHOOL NEWSPAPER O GIRAFINHA AS TRACES OF CULTURES OF SCHOOL AND MEMORIES (MARAVILHA/SC - DECADES OF 1970-1980s)

Abstract

School newspapers, which survived the crudities of time and abandonment, preserved in school libraries or other collections, come to us as testimonies of past gifts, they are archived memories. This article will analyze traces of school cultures and memories from the school newspaper O Girafinha, published between 1975 and 1988, by students and teachers of the school Nossa Senhora da Salete, located in Maravilha, SC. This article is divided into two parts. The first will deal with the materiality of the newspaper and, the second part will approach how values, customs and interests were appropriated and circulated in its pages, configuring practices and memories. It is believed that the newspaper is able to provide clues of intersections between cultures, history and memories. The understanding of these different levels can contribute to the perspective of the interactions between sedimentations, decantations and changes that take place in the school, informing its complexities, its beauty and its indispensable importance.
