Loasaceae is a widespread family in the Americas, often associated to the semiarid regions. Nevertheless, taxonomic studies focusing on this family are scarce in Brazilian Northeastern. This study presents the taxonomic survey of Loasaceae to Paraíba State, Brazil. Field expeditions were carried out between March/2022 and December/2023. Data analysis was based on collected specimens during this study and in the collections of the herbaria CSTR, EAN, HACAM, HCES and JPB. We found two genera and two species: Aosa rupestris (Gardner) Weigend and Mentzelia aspera L. Taxonomic descriptions, geographic distribution data, habitats, flowering and/or fruiting and an identification key for the species differentiation are presented.
