The use of screen readers with TelEduc

It was investigated, in the Telematic Environment TelEduc , the accessibility of the Visually Impaired People (VIP), using the softwares DosVox and Jaws. The theoretical foundations used can be found in studies related to Distance Education. First the research explored how the SR software, the tools and the contents of the Proinesp-II program's course, contributed to the training of teachers at a distance in information technology in Special Education. The second step included the analysis of the softwares and TelEduc'tools. Twenty sessions with two VIP were realized, during which they interacted in the course. The data was colleted in two stages and the analyses were recorded and transcribed in Tables. The analysis of the results showed, among other aspects, that both softwares - DosVox and Jaws, with small differences, allow VIP access in TelEduc.
