Narrative as a tool for the development of clinical practice

This paper reflects on the possibilities that the conceptual and operational incorporation of narrative can bring to the improvement in knowledge and clinical practice in primary care settings. Its starting point is an analysis of the meaning of this concept, originated in the social sciences, to discuss its application to the sphere of medicine. In this sense, narrative is presented as a strategy for reflecting on and proposing paths towards the integration of the different dimensions, knowledge, contexts, desires, needs and demands that are present in the clinical act.
