The objective of this study was to describe and reflect on the importance of social sciences in the field of medical sciences based on the experience of our work in the field of History of Argentine and Latin American Health Sciences at the National University of La Matanza and, specifically, in the Nutrition undergraduate degree program. This work is supported by the development of studies on health/disease and is in line with an initial process in which the parameters of social sciences have been incipiently permeating the training of future health professionals.
