Nature spectacularized in the Pantanal

Abstract:

In Brazil, the Pantanal is located Brazil between states of Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso, also Bolivia and Paraguay. Since the 1970s the region has been undergoing social, cultural, economic and nature transformations with the modernization of livestock and tourism. The tourism contributes to the process of marketization of the Pantanal, especially by the spectacularization of the nature. The aim of this paper is to understand nature as a spectacle the new relations between the Pantanal people and nature.
