Riverside peoples of Amazônia: activities and abilities

This article on the traditional riverside peoples and their relationships with nature is the result of a study carried out in communities along the river Parauari, in the municipality of Maués, State of Amazonas, Brazil. Even though it reflects the struggle of such peoples for social-cultural survival with their own activities, techniques and abilities which develop within the Amazonian context, based on their knowledge which is transmitted to each generation.
