Abstract
This article aims to present the constitution of the Work Group “Social Impacts” linked to the University Network of the Bioceanic Highroad Crossing Porto Murtinho - Portos do Norte, Chile. The purpose of the creation of this group is the development of a research-extension program to investigate, diagnose local realities, identify situations of social vulnerability and risk experienced by the populations residing along the territory of the Bioceanic Highroad Crossing Brazil - Paraguay - Argentina and Chile, with the intention of proposing the development of strategies to address the problems identified, in order to improve the living conditions of these communities. The WG was structured in six different approach shafts with formation of teams. The geographical coverage of Brazilian researchers will be the environment of the route that includes Campo Grande and Porto Murtinho to the border between Brazil and Paraguay. The initial stage of the research provides for a diagnosis of the local communities affected by the construction of the Bioceanic Corridor. It is expected that the work will contribute to public policies focused on human rights issues and processes of social exclusion.
