Traditional fisheries: reflections on public policies in Fishermen’s Community Z-33 in Porto Jatobá, Pernambuco

Abstract:

This paper maps public policies in the Fishermen’s Community in Porto Jatobá, Abreu e Lima, Pernambuco (PE), from 2010 to 2014. The qualitative research concludes that the actions implemented by these policies were created and executed vertically. This has resulted in low effectiveness of the actions of some of these policies. On the other hand, in the actions in which the dialogue with the community was prioritized, there are positive impacts on the daily work of the fishermen.
