Where is my city, or the impact of Samarco's tragedy in the lives of Bento Rodrigues's residents

Abstract:

This work covers aspects linked to the deterritorialization of Bento Rodrigues, a town that disappeared from the map after the breaking of the Fundão dam, from the mining company Samarco in Mariana, Minas Gerais, Brasil. To support the study, we used reflections from Nestor Cancline, Haesbaert, Lefebvre, among others, and also reports and official documents. The conclusions are that such a tragedy has immeasurable implications when analyzed under the subjective perspective of the residents who lost their homes, their loved ones and their cultural assets.
