Abstract:
The purpose of the paper is to cast a reflective outlook over the incorporation of the rural non-farm employment as a strategy which contributes to local rural development, emphasizing four challenges for effective inclusion: a) improvement of precarious rural non-farm employment, b) identifying and exploiting local opportunities, c) recognition of rural producers in his dual capacity as producer/consumer, and d) activation of endogenous human talent for rural development.
