Family farmers commercialization in farmers' markets: quantification, participation, and location in the state of Goiás

Abstract:

This study aims to identify the importance of farmers' markets for family farmers. The survey carried out in 201 municipalities of the Brazilian state of Goiás reveals that 88% of the studied municipalities have regular farmers' markets. 67.16% of these markets have effective participation of family farmers. Clusters of municipalities with greater presence of farmers' markets were identified.
