Graphic design and urban art as tools for social development

Abstract:

This article discusses the relationship between socially oriented graphic design and urban interventions in the city of São Paulo. Among the works done by artists, designers and graffiti artists operating in the city, highlight the project created in 2011 by Thiago "Mundano" - Pimp my Carroça, wich aims to improve the lives of the waste pickers. The article describes the actions taken during the event, related to the project, carried out in 2014.
