Abstract:
This study evaluates the impact of Bolsa Família Program in urban and rural environments, investigating changes in food consumption and identifying access to other non-monetary purchases. Through 86 interviews in a municipality of Paraná State, we observed that the program increased the frequency of food consumption with the help of other non-monetary acquisitions in the urban environment. In the rural areas, self-consumption was an important adjunct to the food security of the beneficiaries.
