Visual migrations: analysis of migration through video art

This paper explores the manners in which the migration moves (in the space and in the time) across the problematic relative to the house, to the language, to the memory, to the identity and to the architecture. It analyzes the different modifications that generate the displacements in different times and territories. Because "the contemporary art is on the border that separates the information of the fiction, border between the documentary and the position in abyss of our society (Renard, 2007, p.17)", this one chosen (specifically the 'videoart') as possible support for the analysis of the topic: migrations. The notions of borders, territories, exiles, questions of identity, spatial are in the middle of the artistic processes of several artists "migrants" or not. If several reject the artist's definition migrant, nevertheless their personal histories nourish their creations, others "not migrants" treated the topic as a phenomenon of relevant political, social, historical importance.
