ABSTRACT
The present study analyzed and compared the morphological characters of a Drosophila species captured in the cloud forest of Intillacta, Pichicha, Ecuador. Morphological traits like spotted wings and genital analysis suggest that this is a new species belonging to the Drosophila morelia group. Therefore, Drosophila nina sp. nov., described in this study, is the fifth species of this group. Likewise, Drosophila ogradi Vela & Rafael, 2004 is redescribed in order to complete missing information in the original description.
